Training Sunday 18th June

With J. Heyyyy so good! I don't know how, but I'im always ducked the day after these privates. Doesn't seem like we do much, but we clearly do. Side 1 arm shrugs, lifting in 1 arm skin the cat,  front level from floor drills to the front and to the back. My side planches were good I thought. Oh we went from back lever. Yes, good. We did just reps of high switch. Need to be being less vertical after my tempo. And slower all round. And go directly to side Blanche. Do not stop to struggle bus.  More push away again in side planche. Spinning working on finding the other side of my flare.  Going to practice those things today

Straps training plan

So, if I'm to modify my warm up to include some of J's drills, it would go as follows. Twists. Inverted shrugs and pulls. Arched scap pulls, one arm leg lifts and side pulls Skin the cats One arm lifts Birds nest  Tempos to needle Evil straddle/swimmers Back lever warm up ^, holds, lifts regression Front lever side planche drills   - fish  - from needle  - from turn  -from back lever  - with band on foot  - with band on waist & hold meat hook to nutcracker nutcracker holds. knee elbow tilt holds butterflies roll up rocks shoulder stand switches flares spins to nutcracker

Training Monday 29th May 2023

Trained twice today.  A very tired trap morning sesh, and a surprisingly ok straps classic the eve Was in the FF mezzanine, which they've made less bouncy but still is a bit.  Did some beats form analysis from catchers and knees, single cut catches, pop to back balance efforts, some decent single box and single toe practice. Tried a thing for funsies - armpits to single box on from the back. lol. Also did armpits, crucifix, full ankle drop, back balances. Belly rolls too.  Noice. No a bad sesh, but nothing exciting neither. I was too tired for excitement. Straps was pretty darn good by comparison! I somehow found a new wind. Decent swimmers, worked on low switches with spot and 2 arms. Gave it a shot 1 arm spinning too. Got a talk from K about how I'm strong enough, but don't have enough confidence/belief. Spins weren't bad either. Got a spot on some inverts

Training 27th May 2023

Managed to schedule a private with J. Alas didn't record anything! Doh. Class was a reiteration of the weeks before, which was good. Started with that pike/straddle activation drill and backbend activation. uuuf Also shoulder activation to side lifts and one arm leg lifts which are pretty woeful. I do train them on trapeze now, but a regressed version of just knees up, so I think I need to move that forward. Nutcracker hold and pulls to knee elbow. Back levers - we worked on trying to snap to position. I tend to snap out to a piked position and fumble around to try to find it. Working theory is to be slightly higher is ok to be straight and holding. Side planches: head lower. P r e s s i n g/pushing away with the holding hand. Wrist really tight to hip. press lower hip in as well and extend it backwards too. high switch: important to think of moving hands not legs. tempo  heels  arch, hands  Flare to nutcracker: looked at the beginning. need to keep arm engagement at beginning not

8 months later - I am back

Training Tuesday 25th October

Arrrrrgh I am so f¨¨ked off with those hocks dismounts!! I cannot get the timing right. Always too early Apart from that, was ok. Did rolls, beat to front balances, front balance kips, toes hangs, ankles beats. An ok session. I need to plan better and get more in. If I go train tomorrow Next week with T ankle drops  dismounts  silver dollar front balance to pike off the back pop to back balance

Training 22-23rd October - Straps workshop

The workshop wasn't great. It was only ok. I hate group classes anyway and actually, J kinda ignores me a lot in them so I'm totally angstful now and I definitely don't think I'll be booking those workshops again... It just wasn't high enough level for me, I think. Too slow paced. That said - it was fun to try different things that I don't normally do - but I get more done in one hour private than I did in 3 hours there. I tried rollups. That's it. Otherwise nothing new for me. And that's not even new. I felt quite neglected, didn't feel we did that much straps  - only maybe 1.5 hours each day - was kinda ok as a one off but I don't think I'll be doing it regularly. If he can do a private with me that next weekend great - if not, also fine.
